Successful Guided Reading Groups

We had a wonderful start with the guided reading groups with our kids and parent and caregiver volunteers. The guided reading groups also had the children writing the important sight words from the books that they read for that week and the sentences that they learne from the books. For the JK, I think it is important just for the kids to write the sight words they learned from the book (e.g., my, can). What is most important for the JK is to start reading because once they learned to read and understand, the learning of any subject will come easily to them!

Please see below the sight word books. If you have sight word books that you want to get rid of or your child has outgrown them, we can always add them to our classroom library!
